For as long as I can remember, the Zuschlag name has been a significant part of my family's life. Richard Zuschlag's friendship with my father, forged during his time at BellSouth and the launch of the 911 system, profoundly shaped our lives. The Zuschlags have always been there for us, especially during our times of need. When my father passed away five years ago, Richard's support was invaluable.Richard and my father were transformative leaders who led with kindness and strength. Their legacy of leadership and friendship has left a lasting impact. Richard's absence leaves a profound void, and his impact on our family is immeasurable. My heart goes out to his family, employees, friends, and all who were touched by his kindness. As the founder of Acadian Ambulance, Richard built a company that has been a cornerstone of emergency medical services, saving countless lives and providing critical care with compassion and excellence. His vision and dedication to serving the community have left an indelible mark.Richard Zuschlag will be deeply missed.#Leadership #Legacy #RichardZuschlag #EmergencyServices #HealthcareHeroes

It's designed to ignite change and empower others! Here's to breaking barriers, inspiring others, and creating a more inclusive world. For something new to become reality, you must first imagine it. Imagine a ribbon-cutting ceremony in 2054 for…an empty lot? It was great to be back at #SXSW to co-facilitate a workshop on Foresight for Mayors for #usmayors United States Conference of Mayors Civic I/O with my colleagues Jake Dunagan and Stuart Candy. Civic leaders are so often consumed with the day-to-day pressures and fires (literal and figurative) that they don’t have time or space to flex their civic imagination muscles. In our workshop, Mayors from across the country came together to envision different futures for their cities. We examined where we stand vis a vis the future (is it getting better and how much agency do we have to make the future?). We talked about our emotional states when we think about the future, and how a regulated nervous system is critical to being able to envision alternate #futures. And we #played! We played Thing From the Future (developed by Stuart at Situation Lab) to help stretch our thinking of what might be possible in the future. This culminated with ribbon cutting ceremonies to unveil new projects from 2054. One group unveiled that empty lot - to signify the demolition of the last homeless shelter in town, because homelessness had been eradicated through comprehensive programs. So many possibilities with an empty lot :)Love getting to help leaders expand their thinking using futures thinking, creativity, and inclusive design. Thank you to David Burns, Nan Whaley, and @usmayors for having us back this year, and to Greg Lindsay for kicking off the morning with such an important talk about AR and why we need to be thinking expansively about the future.#SXSW #foresight #leadership #facilitation

I published a book in 1993. It was such a nightmare, I promised myself I would never write another book. Years ago, Nancy L. Erickson was the guest speaker at a Business Development Team (BDT) meeting. During her presentation, my memory of writing my first book triggered me and I couldn’t wait to get out of there.God had a different plan. I left that meeting telling myself, “No freaking way I’m ever writing a book again.” Over the course of the next year, God was tugging at my heart. I called Nancy for an exploratory conversation. Long story short, here is my book:A Well-Launched Life: How Young People Can Live an Intentional, Fulfilling Life https://a.co/d/bIVZw2aI consider myself a “process” expert. Nancy’s process for helping you write a book that will help other people is OUTSTANDING!!!If you have a story in your head that will benefit other people, you need to call Nancy for 2 reasons:1) Left alone, you will never finish writing your book.2) If you were capable of proving my #1 reason above incorrect, the finished product would be sub-par compared to the finished product you would produce using Nancy’s process. Now pick up your phone and call Nancy!#awelllaunchedlife #thebookprofessor #lifecoaching

I was honored to contribute to an article by Sachin H. Jain, MD, MBA in Forbes, discussing the difficult but necessary topic of what to do when a colleague passes away. It's crucial to not only honor the memory of those we've lost but also to give our colleagues the space and support they need to say goodbye and grieve. Our workplaces should be places where compassion and humanity guide us through all of life’s moments, including the most challenging ones. #WorkplaceWellbeing #GriefSupport #Leadershiphttps://lnkd.in/gyu3sFtU
