Sullivan, Jr., former mayor of Oswego and former chairman of the New York State Democratic party, will hold a book signing for his memoir, “Pee Not Your Pants!” a sometimes serious, sometimes funny, inside-baseball look at politics and how a parochial school student became a small-town mayor who rose from the banks of Lake Ontario to dinner at the White House with President Bill and Hillary Clinton. EXHIBIT OPENING: Come to the Saratoga Springs History Museum Thursday, June 1 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Canfield Casino in Congress Park for the opening of the exhibit “Internationally Famous: An Exhibition Celebrating the Creative, Bohemian Lives of Celebrity Photographer Cris Alexander and his Husband, NYC Ballet Dancer Shaun O’Brien.” The body of work on exhibition is over 230 celebrity photographs from the worlds of theater, art, politics, journalism and society, some of which are recognizable as iconic photographs. This exhibition illustrates how as a couple Alexander and O’Brien lived, loved, and created together for over 65 years. Admission to this fundraiser is only $25 per person, $20 for Museum Members. RAISE THE RINK: The Adirondack Civic Center Coalition announced today that it will hold the “Raise The Rink” fundraiser on Friday, June 2, an event at the Glens Falls Civic Center with all proceeds benefitting the Keep Hockey Here fundraiser.The Raise The Rink fundraiser will feature silent auctions, raffles, live music, food and entertainment for a fun night out in support of the local community. The event will run from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. All adult tickets for admission will be $25 and youth tickets (14 and under) will be $10. WISWALL PARK MOVIES: Free movies in Wiswall Park are back for the eleventh summer in a row, presented by the Ballston Spa Business and Professional Association, as part of its monthly First Friday activities. The series begins on June 2 (rain date June 3) with “Moana”. The movies are projected onto the wall of the adjacent Front Street Deli building on Front Street in the village and begin at approximately 8:30-8:45 p.m. All screenings are free. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. Movie snacks will be available, courtesy of North Star Church. ANTIQUE BOTTLE SHOW: The National Bottle Museum, 76 Milton Ave., Ballston Spa, holds its annual Antique Bottle Show & Sale at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds on Sunday, June 4, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults and $1 for children 12 and under. Parking is free. The bottle show is the Museum’s chief fundraiser and is attended by dealers and collectors from across the Unioted States. All types of antique bottles, related glassware, stoneware and ephemera will be available for purchase. Attendees are encouraged to bring their empty old bottles for identification; bottles with contents should be photographed with a general description. There will also be a lampworking demonstration by Glassworks Studio personnel, with some art glass for sale. BUSK: The Orchard Project is proud to announce its first ever BUSK!, a free public event to kick off a Saratoga Springs summer, featuring artists from its famed residencies and beloved local acts. Taking place on Sunday June 4, from noon-6 p.m. in and around the Saratoga Springs Heritage Area Visitor Center, BUSK! is a spontaneous, outrageous, family-friendly event that aims to offer something to everyone – from local bands and magicians to spectacular circus artists and stunt performers. BUSK! will culminate in an evening cabaret at Putnam Den featuring artists who performed throughout the day, kicking off at 8 p.m.

CANTINA KIDS FUN RUN: An athletic event for kids up to age 12 held in beautiful Congress Park, located in downtown Saratoga Springs. Choose the 1/4 Mile Course, a short loop recommended for kids ages 7 and under, or the 1 Mile Course, recommended for kids ages 8-12. All children receive a medal. WILDLIFE FESTIVAL: On Sunday, June 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park will be hosting a Wildlife Festival at Historic Camp Saratoga on Scout Road in Gansevoort. The event will feature Karner blue butterfly walks, live animal programs, nature crafts, pond exploration, and hands-on fun. BUTTERFLY WALK: There are many opportunities for guided nature walks at Wilton Wildlife Preserve to look for Karner blue butterflies. These walks will take place on Wednesdays through June 22. The walks will be offered twice a day, at 11 a.m. and again at 4 p.m. The walks leave from the parking area for the Old Gick Farm on Route 50 which is just under 4 miles past Wilton Mall. GRANT COTTAGE: “She Called Him Raymond, A True Story of Love, Loss, Faith and Healing,” 1 p.m. A letter penned in 1944 uncovers the powerful and heartfelt story of Helen Gregg, one of eight children of Irish immigrant parents, raised in the miseries of Hell’s Kitchen during the Great Depression, and Clarence Raymond Stephenson, a young aspiring B-17 pilot from the small, struggling city of Ironton, Ohio. Their captivating and poignant story will be explored by author Ray O’Conor in a program in the Grant Cottage Visitor Center, 100 Mt. McGregor Road, Wilton. BUTTERFLY WALK: There are many opportunities for guided nature walks at Wilton Wildlife Preserve to look for Karner blue butterflies. These walks will take place on Wednesdays through June 22. The walks will be offered twice a day, at 11 a.m. and again at 4 p.m. The walks leave from the parking area for the Old Gick Farm on Route 50 which is just under 4 miles past Wilton Mall. The walks should last about an hour and cover a mile of gently rolling terrain. The walks will not take place if there is rain. Please dress appropriately for weather and insects. COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS: On Wednesday, June 14, the Saratoga Springs City School District and Mediation Matters will jointly sponsor “Community Conversations.” The purpose of the event is to promote dialogue that helps to create a more peaceful community. GRANT COTTAGE: Knee-High History, 10 a.m. The Civil War years were more than soldiers at war. In song and story, program facilitators Diana O’Brien and Tom Smith will remind us that there were heroes on the battlefields, cities, towns and villages who built upon the legacy left by our nation’s founders and who envisioned a country of freedom and opportunity for all. The first “North American Civil War” was a very disruptive time – splitting up families, many changing the spelling of their names to denote which side they were on. Most of the British sympathizers fled to Canada. Learn how to trace these settlers through research, both in New York and Canada. A computer resources group follows the meeting.
