Mr. Butler was raised frnm S2.S03 to $3,583, it developed, the ffwne salary voted the Mayor's secretary, Vincent Thomas.

The finance committee had cut out the salary increase for Butler when it considered the annual budgets in July. However, its report was not to the Aldermen and in executive session Tuesday night they voted to raise the salary, contending, one said Friday, that the board ought to have the right to set the salaries cf its own employes.
